1. OLD KILCULLEN

Once an important, walled town. Now only the trunk of a round tower and three cross shafts remain of the monastery believed to have been founded by St. Isserninus, a companion of St. Patrick. The graveyard was the scene of a bloody battle in the 1798 rebellion.
